Presenting with presenter view

During a presentation, it helps the speaker to see their notes, the next slide and the time while the audience sees the slide. Vistelo offers presenter view for this. Presentations are opened on this device; no file is uploaded to a server.

Adding notes

Speaker notes are written in the Notes section below each slide ("Click to add speaker notes"). Notes in presentations opened from PowerPoint are preserved and written back when saving as .pptx.

Opening presenter view

1. Choose the Slide show › Presenter view command or press ⌥F5.
2. The audience view opens in a separate window. Move this window onto the projector or the second screen.
3. If the browser blocks the pop-up, a warning is shown. The browser must allow pop-ups for this site.
4. The main window keeps the presenter's screen.

What is on the presenter's screen?

• Current slide and the Next slide; when the last slide is reached, this is indicated.
• Elapsed time: controlled with the Pause timer, Resume timer and Reset timer buttons.
• Time.
• Notes: brought to a readable size with Larger notes and Smaller notes.
• The Laser pointer and Black screen buttons.

Shortcuts during the show

If presenter view is not needed, Slide show › From beginning (F5) or From current slide (⇧F5) starts the presentation in a single window, full screen. During the show, these keys are used:

• B: black screen, W: white screen, L: laser pointer.
• On a touch screen, tapping the screen moves to the next step.

The pointer is hidden when there is no movement. The list of all shortcuts opens in the editor with the ? key.

Good to know

• Animations are limited to entrance effects; there are no exit or motion path effects.
• Charts, audio and video are not supported; such items in an imported file are skipped and listed in a report.
