Features
Place gates, switches and lamps on a grid and connect the pins with wires; when a switch is turned on, wires carrying 1 glow. The truth table and the simplified Boolean expression follow from the circuit automatically; 12 exercises lead step by step from the NOT gate to the D latch.
Key features
- Circuit editor
- AND, OR, NOT, XOR, NAND, NOR, XNOR and BUF gates on a grid (2–4 inputs for multi-input gates), switch, lamp and clock (0.5–8 Hz). Place a part by tapping it and choosing its spot, or by dragging; connect wires by dragging between pins, tapping them in turn or with the "Connect…" dialog.
- Live simulation
- Event-driven, with a one-step delay for every gate. Circuits with feedback (SR latch) settle into a state; a circuit that does not settle is shown as "oscillating". Wires carrying 1 glow.
- Truth table and expression
- The table is built automatically from the switches and lamps (up to 8 inputs), with the current row highlighted. The Boolean expression is written as a sum of products simplified with Quine–McCluskey for up to 4 inputs, and XOR forms are recognised. "Copy table" gives tab-separated text.
- 12 exercises
- NOT, gates, half and full adder, NAND only, SR latch, multiplexer, decoder, comparator, 2-bit adder, D latch, majority vote. "Test" tries every input combination and shows the first wrong row; progress is saved.
- Build circuit from table
- Fill in a truth table or type an expression (A·B + ¬C, A ⊕ B …); Boolia builds the circuit in simplified form, with up to 4 inputs and 4 outputs.
- Run step by step
- Each step is one gate delay; the parts to be computed in the next step are marked. The clock can also be ticked by hand.
- Editing
- Select / Wire / Erase tools; select, move, rotate, delete; undo and redo. Zoom with two fingers, Ctrl / ⌘ + wheel and buttons, and fit to view.
- Building with the keyboard
- Letters add parts (A, O, N, X, B; with ⇧ NAND, NOR, XNOR; S, L, C), arrows move the selected part, R rotates, W connects a wire, [ ] change the number of inputs, Space toggles a switch.
- Images and files
- The circuit is saved as PNG or SVG in the current theme's colours; circuits are saved and opened one by one or all together as .boolia and shared with the device's own share feature.
- Samples
- On first launch there is a half adder, a full adder and an SR latch; the samples can be edited or deleted, and "Add samples again" brings them back.
- Backup and offline
- "Back up…" puts all circuits, exercise progress and settings into a single file, and "Restore from backup…" brings them back. No account is needed; it works offline.
Devices and browsers
- On a desktop, Parts and exercises are on the left, the circuit in the middle and the truth table and expression on the right. On a phone and a tablet in portrait, the bottom bar holds Circuit, Parts, Table and More.
- On a phone, parts are placed by tapping and choosing a spot, and wires are connected by tapping both pins in turn; no dragging is needed.

Keyboard shortcuts
⌘ and ⌥ are used on macOS; Ctrl and Alt on Windows and Linux.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| A · O · N · X | Add AND, OR, NOT, XOR |
| ⇧A · ⇧O · ⇧X · B | Add NAND, NOR, XNOR, BUF |
| S · L · C | Add switch, lamp, clock |
| ← ↑ → ↓ | Move the selected part (five steps with ⇧) |
| R | Rotate |
| W | Connect a wire |
| [ · ] | Number of gate inputs |
| Space · Enter | Toggle a switch |
| Esc | Cancel placing or selection |
| + · − · 0 | Zoom in · zoom out · fit |
| 1 · 2 | Parts panel · Table panel |
