Features
The document is the SVG file itself: an opened file is edited without loss, and nothing editor-specific is added to the saved text. Drawing uses the pen, path operations and layers; the result is prepared for the web, apps or print with a single click.
Key features
- The SVG file itself
- An opened SVG is edited as it is; definitions, styles and IDs are preserved, and the saved file opens the same in every program. Compressed .svgz files are also opened and saved.
- Pen and points
- Corner and curve points are drawn with the Bézier pen. With direct selection, points and handles are moved; the point type (corner, smooth, symmetric) is changed, points are added and deleted, and paths are cut.
- Path operations
- Unite, subtract, intersect and exclude; shapes are converted to paths and unnecessary points are simplified. Freehand drawings are smoothed when released.
- Layers
- Groups and elements are shown in a tree; they are hidden, locked and reordered by dragging. Layer names are written to the SVG as ids.
- Live SVG source
- The source of the selection or the document appears in a side panel; changes on the canvas are reflected in the source, and edits in the source on the canvas, instantly.
- Export
- Editable SVG or SVG optimized with SVGO; PNG scales, PDF with one page per artboard, icon sets and favicon.ico. Multiple files are saved to a folder or a single .zip.
- Artboards
- Artboards of different sizes in one document, such as a logo, an icon and a social media image; each artboard is exported separately.
- Color and gradients
- Solid color, linear and radial gradients; colors used in the document are listed for quick selection, and the eyedropper picks up another object's style.
- Stroke
- Width, line caps, line joins and dashes; opacity and blend mode.
- Alignment and snapping
- Align and distribute relative to the selection, the artboard or a key object; while moving, objects snap to the edges and centers of other objects.
- Shapes and text
- Rectangle, ellipse, polygon, star, line and multi-line text; placing images and pasting SVG from other applications.
- Drawing with a stylus
- When a tablet stylus is detected, the stylus draws and a finger scrolls; zooming uses two fingers.
Devices and browsers
- Drawing with a tablet stylus is supported: when a stylus is detected, the stylus draws and a finger scrolls (this setting can be changed).
- On phones the tools are at the bottom of the screen, and layers and properties are in a bottom sheet.
- Saving a file in place and writing exported files to a folder are available in Chrome, Edge and Opera; in other browsers files are downloaded, and multiple files become a .zip.
