Frequently asked questions
Can a PowerPoint file be opened and saved without loss?
Text, shapes, tables, images, notes, transitions and entrance animations are preserved. Unsupported elements (such as charts, audio and video) are listed in a report when the file is opened and are removed on saving.
Are notes visible during a presentation?
Yes. In presenter view (⌥F5) the audience sees the slide in a separate window, while the presenter sees the notes, the next slide, a timer and the clock.
How is a presentation saved as PDF?
File › Export as PDF (Ctrl/⌘ P) opens the browser's print dialog, in which "Save as PDF" is selected as the destination.
Can Keynote files be opened?
No. The presentation must first be exported to .pptx from Keynote.

- Charts, audio and video are not supported; charts in imported files are omitted.
- Merged table cells are split, freeform shapes become rectangles, and shape gradients become a single colour.
